Rube J. Pardo M.D., Ph.D.

Rube J. Pardo M.D.,Ph.D. is the medical director of Coral Gables Dermatology & Laser Center. Dr. Pardo graduated with honors from the University of Miami with a degree in biology. He attended graduate school at the University of Florida, receiving a doctorate in anatomy and cell biology. After completing his Ph.D. studies, he entered Medical School at the University of Florida and then pursued an internship at Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina. He completed his dermatology training at the University of Miami School of Medicine and joined the faculty in 1989, becoming Chief of Dermatology of the Jackson Memorial Hospital dermatology clinics. He continues to be involved in resident education while maintaining a private practice in Coral Gables. Dr. Pardo is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Pardo is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is involved in teaching and research in the use of dermatologic lasers and has authored numerous publications. His primary clinical interests are in the field of skin laser surgery, skin rejuvenation with lasers and IPL devices and correction of acne scars. Dr. Pardo offers cosmetic treatment of environmentally damaged skin with lasers, peels, Botox® and FDA aproved wrinkle fillers.

Luis E. Scheker, M.D.

Luis E. Scheker, M.D. graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in music before pursuing a medical career. Dr. Scheker received his medical doctorate from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, graduating with high honors. He completed his internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana and his residency in dermatology at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He joined Dr. Pardo in practice in 2007. Dr. Scheker holds professional membership as a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology. He has written and co-authored articles which have been published in national medical journals and has been a guest speaker on dermatologic topics at a number of medical conferences. Dr. Scheker is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and has staff privileges at Doctor's Hospital in Coral Gables. He offers evaluation and treatment of all skin disorders including acne, psoriasis, and skin cancers. He also offers cosmetic treatments for the face with Botox®, Restylane®, Perlane®, and Juvederm®, as well as laser treatments for acne scarring, rosacea, facial veins, and brown spots from the sun.

Tami De Araujo, M.D.

Dr. Tami De Araujo is a board certified dermatologist and dermatological surgeon whose training includes residencies completed in both Brazil and the United States. After graduating with honors from the Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo Medical School in Sao Paulo Dr. De Araujo completed her dermatology training at Santa Casa de Misericordia de Sao Paulo, one of the most prestigious programs in Brazil. Soon after graduation she moved to the United States to pursue her interest in dermatology clinical research at the University of Miami. She completed a second residency in dermatology also at the University of Miami, where she was honored with an invitation to be the Chief Resident. Dr. De Araujo has been recognized by the South Florida Dermatological Society with awards for excellence in clinical diagnosis and clinical research. Her professional associations include fellowship in the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association and American Academy of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. De Araujo’s professional interests include pediatric and general dermatology as well as the entire spectrum of cosmetic dermatology including lasers for vascular and pigmented lesions, rejuvenation of skin, scar treatment, Botox® and facial fillers.

Yesenia Sebastia, R.N., ARNP

Yesenia Sebastia joined Coral Gables Dermatology & Laser Center in 1999. She obtained her Associates in Arts degree from Miami Dade College and a Bachelor's in nursing from Florida International University. After obtaining clinical experience in various hospitals and home health services, she returned to Florida International University to obtain a Master's degree in nursing, completing her advanced studies in 1998. Yesenia has ten years experience in laser hair removal and heads that aspect of our practice as well as participating in general dermatology patient care.

Silvana Diaz, L.E.

Silvana Diaz joined Coral Gables Dermatology & Laser Center in 1995. She received her Skin Care Therapy certification from the College of Natural Health in 1999. In 2004, she completed an Associate Degree from Miami-Dade College and is currently at Florida International University where she will soon complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration and Management. Silvana has had over 13 years of experience in Dermatology, ranging from patient consultations to working with the latest skin care technology. She is a very conscientious member of our team who maintains patients’ needs as her first priority.

Idania Reyes, L.E.

Idania Reyes joined Coral Gables Dermatology and Laser Center in 2002. She received her esthetics education at the Florida School of Natural Health in 1997, and is certified both as a medical assistant and esthetician. Idania has over ten years experience in skin care and dermatology. She heads our Acne Treatment Center and is very experienced in the management and treatment of acne in teenagers and adults.
